Exploring the Margaret River Region’s National Parks and Wildlife

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

Although the region may be most famous for its spectacular coastline, away from the coast, Margaret River’s beautiful national parks offer a stunning landscape for a host of hiking, bird watching and picnicking adventures. Here’s just a small selection of the local beauty spots to check out close to our holiday accommodation Margaret River.

Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park

Located just off Naturaliste Terrace, not far from our pet friendly accommodation Margaret River, the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Natural Park is probably most famous for Sugarloaf Rock, a striking rock formation that looms dramatically above the coastline. A trip to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse will reward you with expansive views over the Indian Ocean and the chance to spot humpback whales during their annual migration each year.

Cape Leeuwin National Park

This beautiful park encompasses the Cape, the most South Westerly point of the region and the place where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is a great lookout spot with stunning views over the rugged surrounding landscape. Don’t forget to check it out for yourself during your stay at our holiday accommodation Margaret River!

Beedelup National Park

The highlight of this park is Beedelup Falls, a picturesque cascading waterfall, situated just off Vasse Highway, not far from our Margaret River winery accommodation. It is also home to an impressive 400 year old Karri tree which features a human size hole you can stand in for endless family photo fun.
