Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival is the biggest regional literary event in Western Australia. Each year it brings an array of thought-provoking writers to the region including novelists, journalists, academics and established and emerging storytellers from WA, interstate and overseas.
The 2017 Margaret River Readers & Writers Festival showcases an array of storytelling talent. With more than 50 writers, journalists, illustrators and presenters we invite readers to join writers as we hear stories brought to life in many forms. Some of the esteemed authors include Stephanie Alexander, Allan Boyd, Tim Baker, James Foley, Anna Gare, Leslie Thiele, and many more.
The 2017 festival will be a hub of entertainment and activities on Saturday and Sunday. By embracing the notion of bringing stories to life, it is our aim to deliver a festival that celebrates stories everyone can share in. Come along and enjoy: Free lunchtime talks from 1pm-2pm each day, Storytelling tent with readings, talks and workshops, Interactive artwork, Acoustic music, Giant crossword puzzles & games
Arts, crafts and colouring-in, Market stalls featuring local artists and authors, A number of free workshops including Beautifully Mad Song Writing and SLAM, Poetry, Food & coffee vans and Festival Bookshop & book signings.
