Cape to Cape MTB

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

2017 marks ten years of the Cape to Cape MTB and to mark this milestone an epic four days of festivities has been planned! This year has been designed for everyone and anyone to participate in the Cape to Cape MTB and celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary. If you have previously competed in the Cape to Cape MTB we are inviting you to join us again, or if you are looking to participate for the first time then make 2017 as your year, we have taken away all the excuses and created the ultimate Cape to Cape course!

Cape to Cape MTB v1
2017 will be an event for the whole family with the close proximity of stages reducing travel time during the day and increasing the opportunity to really explore the Margaret River region and all that it has to offer!  To cap it off we will have an “Event Village” within the middle of Margaret River.  The Event Village will be open daily for the week of the event from the Wednesday onwards for Registrations, Merchandise, Sponsor Zones, Riding Demos, plus a stage for daily presentations and nightly music acts.  It will be the place to hang after each stage with food trucks, mobile bars, sponsor demos, elite rider marquees and everything else all within a close proximity of your favourite bars and restaurants in Margaret River.

Over the past few years riders have raved about how rad the Margaret River Special Stage is on Day 3 so for 2017 our Race Director has designed Four Special Stages for riders to absolutely froth on – and each will highlight the best set of trails through the south west capes region!

To celebrate 10 years of Cape to Cape MTB calling the South West region our home, we are taking a break from the point to point format, Year 10 will be based solely out of venues around Margaret River with all four stages starting within a 5km radius of the Margaret River town centre. The Four Special Stages have been designed to incorporate the best trails used throughout the ten years of the Cape to Cape MTB and will include Boranup, Middle Earth, The Pines and the soon to be opened Compartment 10.

Don’t miss Cape to Cape MTB from October 19 – 22 in Margaret River.

Our Holiday Accommodation Margaret River is located in Margaret River.

Our houses are within walking distance from the beach. The houses feature a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, an open stone fireplace or pot belly fire, air conditioning, heating, television, a gas barbecue, outdoor gardens, a fenced yard for dogs, iPod dock/cable, a toy cupboard, iron, bedding and more.

South West Mudfest

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

South West MudfestFOR SOME, WINTER means cosying up in front of a wood fire, drinking big mugs of hot Milo and knitting scarves. For others, it means flinging themselves into huge muddy puddles, down slippery slides and over unyielding obstacles. If that gets your heart racing, then we have good news for you, because the South West Mudfest is just around the corner.

We are talking tractor tyres, bird netting, dams, beer kegs and of course, good old fashioned mud. Take your time, and really wallow in that mud, because let’s face it, mud is fun.

When you’re well limbered up and have your camp clothes on, you can head down to Bootleg Brewery where the fun begins. There will be two mucky courses: the 5km Mud Mayhem and 12km Dirty Dozen, with the tracks of both littered with distinctly South West obstacles.

This muddier than ever challenge is suitable for all fitness levels, and is all about having a good time with your mates. Get a crew together and sign up now at www.mudfestwa.com.au

Getting down and dirty never felt so good!

New for 2017: Kids’ course

Children ages 6-12 will be let loose on a course full of muddy obstacles to be rewarded with a sausage sizzle and a drink at the finish line.

The Wharf Revue

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

ANTLive in partnership with The Sydney Theatre Company presents The Wharf Revue.

Over 15 years and 21 shows, they’ve mercilessly mocked all the usual suspects. We’ve watched Howard Tampa with refugees, Rudd give pennies from Kevin, Gillard refuse to be lectured by “that man”, “that man” scrap the carbon tax, stop the boats and – um – get the budget back into surplus… But no one has been able to outplay, outwit or outlast The Wharf Revue.

So, we’re throwing a party and everyone’s invited. For the 15th anniversary, The Wharf Revue was a parade of past and present indignitaries – a who’s who of 21st century embarrassments, from the politicians to the celebrities – all skewered on the stake of seriously side-splitting satirical silliness and musical mayhem.

Written and created by Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phillip Scott.Margaret River Beach House

Cast Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe, Phillip Scott, Amanda Bishop

★★★★ Biggins’s impersonation of Peter Costello is unnervingly acute and Bishop has ABC anchor Emma Alberici and columnist/foodie Annabel Crabb to a tee. Tony Abbott as Thernadier (singing Leader of the House) in the night’s extended sketch, Les Liberales, is inspired casting. JASON BLAKE, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

Tickets at standard cinema prices: $14 Adults, $12 Arts Hub Members, $8 Youth.

Catch The Wharf Revue on August 19 at The Arts Margaret River. Our Margaret River Beach House is just minutes away from The Arts Margaret River.

Our accommodation is fully furnished and complete with all the amenities you will need. All our houses feature a fully equipped kitchen, laundry, an open stone fireplace or pot belly fire, air conditioning, heating, television, a gas barbecue, outdoor gardens and lawns, a fenced yard for dogs, iPod dock/cable, a toy cupboard, iron, bedding and more. Enjoy preparing home-cooked meals in our fully equipped kitchen. Cook for family and friends and enjoy a home-cooked meal. Kick back and relax while watching television. Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience v2

When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially with two-thirds of the show improvised. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of gags, shambolic service and a ‘70s-style 3-course meal.

This globetrotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out in places like Sydney Opera House, Raffles Singapore and London’s West End. It returns to Caves House Hotel on 8 & 9 August 2017 – but be warned: it’ll sell out here too, so early booking is essential!

Expect the unexpected in this ‘superb evening of food and comedy’ (Limelight Magazine, Sydney Opera House 2016).

Have a superb evening with brillant comedy and biting sarcasm. Don’t miss the Faulty Towers Dining Experience. You’ll be laughing your heart out and then some. Experience the Faulty Towers and see for yourself why the show has remained as popular as ever.

Catch the show on August 8 at Caves House Hotel. Our Margaret River Beach House is just a short drive from Caves House Hotel.

Kick back and relax while watching television. Bring your furry friends along and enjoy our dog-friendly accommodation. We have a fenced yard especially for dogs. We know your holiday won’t be complete without your beloved companions, so feel free to bring them along.
