Margaret River Running Festival

Put on your running shoes and join the crowd. Enjoy the Margaret River Running Festival and enjoy an invigorating run amidst scenic views. Chose the 4km or 10km Road Run or the 15km Trail Run to take in the spectacular Margaret River scenery.  Starting at various locations and all finishing at the world renowned Surfers Point surf break, with finish line festivities at Rifle Butts Park. The Margaret River Running Festival is a great way to start your Sunday…run, jog, walk, enjoy!

There are various courses. Whatever your fitness level may be, you’ll find a course that suits your fitness goals and fitness level.

4 KM ROAD RUN – Go solo or bring the kids and meander the 4 kilometre path from Wallcliffe Rd Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade, down the hill overlooking the spectacular Margaret River Boat Ramp and Main Break to finish at Surfers Point.

10KM ROAD RUN – Set yourself a personal objective, grab some mates, limber up and throw yourself into the 10 kilometre run from Gloucester Oval in Margaret River township, along the bush path, past kangaroos and wineries towards to coast to finish at the amazing Surfers Point, Prevelly.

15 KM Trail Run – Challenge yourself…Ouch!  Head south from Surfers Point, Prevelly, along the Gnarabup and Boodjidup path & beaches, back east along the south side of Boodjidup Creek, up the crazy steps (for the uninitiated these are 183 steps climbing away from Boodjidup Creek) to follow the Cape to Cape track north along the Prevelly ridge back to Wallcliffe Rd, finish with our other runners at the spectacular, Surfers Point, Prevelly overlooking Main Break.

This exciting fun run will be held on October 18, 2015 at Gloucester Park, Margaret River.

Margaret River Ag Show

If you want to experience everything rural and enjoy a customary agricultural show, make sure you don’t miss this event. This is the annual Margaret River Agricultural Show which will once again take place at the footy oval in Margaret River. Visitors will definitely enjoy live musical performances by talented artists and there will be a fireworks display at the main oval on Friday night. Some of this year’s attractions include chocolate and wine pairing; equestrian, horse and shearing displays; arts and crafts.. and more! The show will also feature an exciting variety of local produce in addition to lifestyle, arts and craft exhibits at the exhibition hall. This year’s event promises to be an enjoyable day for everybody. This is a great chance to check out the shows, enjoy the sounds, sights and scents of rural heritage, see the farming and other displays, try out the local produce, spend some fun time with the local community and be entertained by live performances. 2015 Cape to Cape MTB

Cape to Cape MTB

Biking enthusiasts unite! Cape to Cape MTB is on! Cape to Cape MTB is a four-day mountain bike race through the south west region of Western Australia.

Set amidst a gorgeous backdrop of world famous surf beaches, private farmlands, rocky outcrops and national forests, the event is fun and challenging for riders of all levels, from recreational to competitive. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced cyclist, you’ll love Cape to Capte MTB.

Cape to Cape MTB is the sister event for Port to Port MTB. Cape to Cape MTB welcomes riders of all abilities. Everyone is welcome to join. The motto is ‘it’s a ride, not a race’. While there are elite riders participating each year, inexperienced entrants who are new to the sport of mountain biking also enter. As long as you want to bike, feel free to join.

The course is divided into several stages.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse to Hamelin Bay (42km)

Stage 2: Friday October 23, 2015
Hamelin Bay to Xanadu Winery (60km)

Please note that this event is not held on the Cape to Cape Walk Trail. It is run on a unique course designed across a variety of roads, tracks and trails that wind from Cape Leeuwin to Cape Naturaliste.

2015 Cape to Cape MTB will be from Thursday 22th – Sunday 25th October 2015 in the South West region of Western Australia. Come one and all and enjoy this awesome ride through some of the most breathtaking sights in Western Australia.
