Margaret River Wine Region Highlights

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

The fertile soils that surround our Margaret River winery accommodation between Cape Leeuwin in the south and Cape Naturaliste in the north produce some of the best wine in Australia. There are more than 150 wineries to explore, ranging from expansive estates with fine dining restaurants, summer opera concerts and art galleries to small, family-run businesses that offer an intimate peek behind the scenes of the wine making process. If you’re a seasoned wine buff or just fancy indulging in some of the best chardonnays in the country, here’s just a small selection of the fantastic wineries to check out close to Beachside Prevelly Villas pet friendly accommodation Margaret River.

Ashbrook Estate

This is one of the region’s longest running wineries, and stepping inside the Cellar Door, it feels like little has changed since it was first established nearly 40 years ago. Situated at the end of a red dirt road, the winery has a less commercialised feel than many of the bigger estates and offers an impressive and very affordable Riesling at around $20 a bottle. Don’t forget to check it out for yourself during your stay at our Margaret River winery accommodation!

Silkwood Wines

Nestled by the towering karri forest of Beedulup National Park, this popular estate is all about creating a healthy natural environment for vines to grow in. Their hard work paid off because the boutique, hand-crafted vintages you’ll find here are to die for. The winery is located in the Pemberton region, not far from our holiday accommodation Margaret River.

Mongrel Creek Wines

This small, family-run winery has a refreshingly non-pretentious attitude towards wine production. It is situated in Dunsborough, not far from our Margaret River winery accommodation. Pay a visit to the cellar door and stock up on their excellent Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz.
