The Wharf Revue

Written by Administrator on . Posted in Blog

ANTLive in partnership with The Sydney Theatre Company presents The Wharf Revue.

Over 15 years and 21 shows, they’ve mercilessly mocked all the usual suspects. We’ve watched Howard Tampa with refugees, Rudd give pennies from Kevin, Gillard refuse to be lectured by “that man”, “that man” scrap the carbon tax, stop the boats and – um – get the budget back into surplus… But no one has been able to outplay, outwit or outlast The Wharf Revue.

So, we’re throwing a party and everyone’s invited. For the 15th anniversary, The Wharf Revue was a parade of past and present indignitaries – a who’s who of 21st century embarrassments, from the politicians to the celebrities – all skewered on the stake of seriously side-splitting satirical silliness and musical mayhem.

Written and created by Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe and Phillip Scott.Margaret River Beach House

Cast Jonathan Biggins, Drew Forsythe, Phillip Scott, Amanda Bishop

★★★★ Biggins’s impersonation of Peter Costello is unnervingly acute and Bishop has ABC anchor Emma Alberici and columnist/foodie Annabel Crabb to a tee. Tony Abbott as Thernadier (singing Leader of the House) in the night’s extended sketch, Les Liberales, is inspired casting. JASON BLAKE, SYDNEY MORNING HERALD

Tickets at standard cinema prices: $14 Adults, $12 Arts Hub Members, $8 Youth.

Catch The Wharf Revue on August 19 at The Arts Margaret River. Our Margaret River Beach House is just minutes away from The Arts Margaret River.

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience v2

When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially with two-thirds of the show improvised. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of gags, shambolic service and a ‘70s-style 3-course meal.

This globetrotting show is truly quite legendary, selling out in places like Sydney Opera House, Raffles Singapore and London’s West End. It returns to Caves House Hotel on 8 & 9 August 2017 – but be warned: it’ll sell out here too, so early booking is essential!

Have a superb evening with brillant comedy and biting sarcasm. Don’t miss the Faulty Towers Dining Experience. You’ll be laughing your heart out and then some. Experience the Faulty Towers and see for yourself why the show has remained as popular as ever.

The One – Live Theatre Show

The One - Live Theatre Show

Featuring flickers of love songs from the world of rhythm and blues, the musical piece follows the unraveling of a happy couple set to a frenzied guitar. This theatrical fever dream promises to give audiences pause before popping the question.

There’s a happy couple. They’ve been together a few years. They do things couples do: walk together, talk together, meander through IKEA and do crosswords on Sunday mornings.

One day he realises she’s The One, so he gets down on one knee (as is tradition) and proposes. And she explodes: “Do you actually know what marriage is? It’s a way of turning women into property.” And he gets her point… kind of… but he loves her, and surely she’ll come around. I mean, he’s seen Taming of the Shrew. Some women just need more convincing than others.

Written and directed by Jeffrey Jay Fowler and produced by Whiskey & Boots, one of Perth’s newest theatre companies comprised of two local treasures, Georgia King and Mark Storen.

The One takes a romantic cliché and impales it with marriage’s grim history; A Musical RE-telling of the classic story of boy meets girl, boy proposes to girl and everything falls apart.

Suitable for ages 15+ (contains adult themes and language).

“Sexy, funny and smart that will stimulate the mind, the heart and the libido. It’s a big step away from anything I’ve done before.” Jeffrey Jay Fowler
